Project Description
Children’s Peace Garden field trips are engaging, hands-on, and will enhance the elementary science curriculum. Students will have the opportunity to engage in activities focused on local food, organic gardening practices, the importance of biodiversity and community, and reconnecting with the Earth through experiential gardening activities.
Field Trip themes and activities align with the rhythms of the garden growing season in relation to the school year and align with the Colorado Model Content Standards for Science and Social Studies.
Field trips can be scheduled from Friday, March 15th – Friday, October 25th and include up to 3 hours of programming for groups of up to 85 students.
Field trips are available Tuesday-Friday each week. The cost is $5 per student with a minimum of $75 during the spring and fall; $8 per student with a minimum of $120 during the summer. There is no additional fee for adults and chaperons. After school hours are also available.
All types of groups are welcome – Preschool and Elementary Schools, Girl or Boy Scouts, Home-School and other community groups!
All field trips take place at Growing Garden’s agriculture site at 1630 Hawthorn Ave., Boulder, CO. Map to the garden.

- Eating your way through the parts of a plant
- Harvesting and making a healthy snack from the garden to enjoy (Sept 1st-Sept 30th)

We will work with your schedule and curriculum needs to provide an engaging and educational experience in the garden.
If you aren’t able to come to the garden for a field trip, please consider allowing us to bring the garden to you for a classroom visit!
