To gain access to milk from our herd, you must join our Herdshare Program. Learn more about our Herdshare Program below.
When do milk pick-ups start?
Milk distribution begins in April and runs through early December. Milk availability varies throughout the season, with the highest quantities available in the summer months.
What is the cost?
Herdshare Membership: The Herdshare Membership is a $40 lifetime membership. Once you pay this fee you own an interest in our herd and become part of our Herdshare. This fee also includes a bottle replacement fee. We ask that you bring back your empty, rinsed-out glass bottle every week. This allows us to provide a sanitized bottle for your fresh milk every week.
Sustainability Membership: Giving $40 to $150 annually allows us to meet the increase in costs for day-to-day farm operations, offer our staff livable wages, and continue to provide high-quality milk to our community. Please choose an amount that is comfortable for you. All members must pay the annual sustainability membership fee to gain access to the online store to reserve and purchase milk. Anyone needing a scholarship to support their sustainability fee can check our scholarship webpage to see if they qualify.
Boarding Fees: Colorado uses the Herdshare model to distribute raw milk. The “boarding fee” enables you to board your portion of a goat and for the Growing Gardens Goat Dairy to provide milking services for you. The boarding fee is based on how much milk you are getting each week:
1/2 Gallon: $14.25
Quart: $8.75
Raw Goat Cheese (8oz): $13
