The goat dairy is an important way Growing Gardens connects urban residents to the land, to their food, and to nature by providing access to sustainable agriculture, farm education, and humane dairy production.
Goats have played an important role in sustainable agricultural practices for centuries across countless cultures.
The goat herd has positive impacts on soil health and farm ecology and reduces our need to bring compost onto the farm. The herd enjoys grazing on cover crops and weeds, which decreases our labor and fossil fuel inputs, and supports our goals for managing our land holistically.
Formerly known as Mountain Flower Goat Dairy, the incredible goat herd, llama, and the team became part of the Growing Gardens community on January 2021 in a collaborative effort to increase awareness, steward the land, and cultivate community.

Herdshare Membership
To gain access to milk from our herd, you must join our Herdshare Program. As a herdshare member, you will pay a “boarding fee” to board your portion of a goat at our farm. In exchange, we provide a milking service for you. The boarding fee is based on how much milk you are receiving.
