Gardening 101: Online Course

In this online workshop we will dive into the details about how to prepare your garden and start planting. Topics will include: understanding soils, soil fertility and amendments, bed preparation, starting seeds at home, direct seeding, and an introduction to irrigation. This introductory class is a great place to start if you are new to gardening or new to gardening in the Colorado climate!

Please note: Course curriculum includes pre-recorded videos and handouts.  You will have virtual access to the materials for one month after registering and can start and stop viewing information at your leisure during that time. You will receive emailed instructions for accessing the course curriculum within 24 hours after registering.

Instructor:

Sarah Kell, Boulder Farm Manager at Growing Gardens: Sarah was born and raised in Denver, CO. She previously worked at and managed a larger for-profit farm, and now manages Growing Gardens’ 2-acre farm at our Hawthorne site which supports a 70 member CSA, farm stand, and donation program. All together, Sarah has completed eight seasons of farming and is in her fifth year at Growing Gardens. Fun fact – Sarah loves to garden at high altitude!
