In this class, we will dive into the details about how to prepare your garden and start planting. Topics will include understanding soils and soil amendments, bed preparation, starting seeds at home, direct seeding in your garden, and transplanting seedlings. This class is a great place to start if you are new to gardening or new to gardening in the Colorado climate. If you’re a seasoned gardener looking to increase your produce yields this class takes a deep dive into growing healthier, more productive plants and there is lots of time for questions.

Instructor:
Sarah Kell, Boulder Farm Manager: Sarah was born and raised, exploring, hiking and enjoying the outdoors of Colorado. She has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado in Spanish and Anthropology, and before joining the Growing Gardens staff worked as a camp counselor, in restaurants, and for environmental organizations in Boulder. Her love of food, the environment, and the outdoors drew her to a job working on the crew at an organic farm in Boulder. She then managed the farm and its employees for two years. As the Growing Gardens Boulder Farm Manager, Sarah hopes to teach others and enrich the community with her knowledge and love for growing food.
