The ¡Cultiva! Youth Project (ages 11-19)
¡Cultiva! is a youth operated
organic market garden. Participants will plant and nurture a 2 acre
garden, harvest the produce weekly to sell at the Boulder
County Farmers' Market, and donate a portion of what is harvested
to those in need in the local community. Through this project, youth
will learn to care for and protect the environment, will learn how to
operate a small business, and will take part in a variety of activities
which create positive change for the community, the environment, and
youth themselves.
The Children’s Peace Garden (ages
4 - 10)
In the Children's Peace Garden, children
learn about the source of the food that they eat, nutritional value
of vegetables and the fundamentals of organic gardening practices. They
experience activities and games designed to encourage peace, respect,
environmental stewardship, and friendship.
The Children's Peace Garden offers spring and fall field
trips and classroom visits for preschool and elementary school groups as well as an After School Garden Club and five weeks of Summer Camp.
